This is so true! But i think the important thing is to ignore that voice.
Unfortunately, i'm not a miracle worker nor do i have a degree in psychology but I do someday wish to be a psychiatrist which is one of the reasons i started this blog. So I am going to try and help, as some people may know, I was diagnosed with anxiety 2 years ago and even before that, pretty much for as long as I can remember, I've had trouble completing everyday tasks.
For example, I used to get the bus to school everyday and everyday I would stand at the bus station, panicking about what I had to say to the driver to get my ticket and I'd get stressed in those 10 minutes going over everything that could go wrong. From saying the wrong thing to spitting when I talk or tripping up.
What I'm trying to say is, I know what it's like to live with anxiety. Everyone is different so I have my own rule never to say 'I know how you feel' because usually, you really have no idea and it'll just annoy the person, but I do understand.

Okay enough with my babbling! I've came up with a few tips for dealing with anxiety...
Tip 1 ~ Tell someone!
Okay, I know how stupid this sounds but if you haven't yet been to a doctor or haven't yet been diagnosed but you think you may have anxiety, it's best to tell someone. I was terrified to tell my mum incase she just told me I was being silly or paranoid but actually, she was extremely supportive as she is with everything. She too has anxiety and has had it for years so she understands and can support me, even if you don't tell your parent/carer, it's good to tell someone, a friend or something just to get it off your chest. If you honestly feel you have no one, feel free to email me at [email protected] I check emails daily and am always free to talk!
Tip 2 ~ Don't Overthink!
This is one of the first things the psychologist told me, overthinking causes so much unnecessary stress and so many unwanted panic attacks, if you have an event coming up that you're stressing about or if you think your friends don't like you, try not to think about it. The amount of times I've overthought and had bad panic attacks over an event that turned out to be great is unreal or the amount of times I had to ask my friends if they liked me was terrible.(most of them I don't talk to now but that's due to other factors) . A lot of the time, you just need to distract yourself and I know it's really hard but it helps just to push it to the back of your mind. Unless of course it's exams/tests. In that case, do as much revision as possible and ace that test! You'll do great if you concentrate.
Tip 3 ~ STOP
I have this little card thing and basically what it does is tells you to stop what you're doing, concentrate on your breathing, listen to it, block everything out and give yourself 10-30 seconds to calm yourself down. I use this technique a lot if i'm having a panic attack, it usually doesn't work for my bad ones but I've learnt its good for the tame ones. (for me anyway, everyone's different).
That's all i can think of now but i will add more tips and stuff on anxiety in the near future.xox
